Secretary of Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council, ICC, Ambassador Mukhtar Gashash has revealed how the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC in Kano state, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna donated his campaign appeal fund to charity in the state.
Speaking during the inauguration of Kano chapter of the ICC officials on Sunday, Gashash revealed that the huge amount of money was realised when friends and well-wishers of Gawuna decided to contribute to his candidature.
According to Gashash, the money was “very huge, beyond anybody’s estimate” but Gawuna said he would not use “a kobo” out of it, that it should be disbursed to the poor and downtrodden in the state.
He narrated that “the money, i can not tell how much because is still being donated by friends and well-wishers, but it is very huge amount, beyong anybody’s estimate.

“I am the one keeping the money because it is being paid into my account. I met Gawuna, who is my childhood friend and told him that this fund has been realized, how do i transfer it to you?
“Gawuna said, “ambassador, i will not touch a kobo out of this money”. I then asked him, so what do we do with this money? he said we should use the money to help the poor and downtrodden
“The money should be distributed to needy, prisoners, patients at hospitals and some projects in communities and that is what is being done currently,” Gashash revealed.
While extolling Gawuna, who is the Deputy Governor of the state, Gashash said he is the best among the governorship candidates in all ramifications.
He said Gawuna is playing a decent politics, not a do-or-die, noting that his political pedigree and administrative experience is what made the APC candidate have an edge over his opponents.
Gashash then called on the people of the state to vote for APC from top to bottom, vowing to continue to campaign for the ruling party through ICC until it succeed in the next months’ elections.
