The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed a fire incident that razed shops at the popular grocery market, Singer Market in Kano state.
The agency said the the fire had destroyed roperties worth millions of Naira, as some shops at the ipper building of defunct Savannah Bank.
This was contained in a statement, by the Service, Saminu Abdullahi, and made available to newsmen in Kano on Monday.

According to him, the Agency received a distress call at around 02:18am from one Sai’du Hamza that there was fire outbreak at Singa market, Fagge Local government area.
Saminu pointed out that, on receiving the information, personnel and fire fighting Vehicle to the scene were deployed to the Scene of the incident at about 02:22 a.m.
He stressed that, several temporary shops were completely razed by the fire, adding that the service was yet to ascertain the cause and total number of the shops affected.
BizPoint reports that this is the third fire incident in less than a month as Kurmi and Rimi markers were razed by the inferno, which led to the loss of multi million naira properties.
