Former Jigawa state member, House of Representatives, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu has opened a shop for selling fresh farm products, under Malam Alu Agro Allied Company Limited in Kano state.
BizPoint reports that products are the produce of the Malam Ali Farm, located in Birnin Kudu, Jigawa state.
Speaking at the launching of the outlet, named Malam Alu, held in Kano on Saturday, Aliyu, who is the Chairman of Malam Alu company, said the shop is first of its kind in Nigeria.
According to him, the products are only produced at the Malam Alu farm, where people, especially in Jigawa, have to go there to make supplies, but decided to open some outlets where people would get it easily.

He said he chose to open the outlet in Kano as the most populous state in the country, after conducting a research on the prospect of the market there, adding that he has products “that could beat any other ones in the market competition.
“Of course we consider market. You being goods where the the people are. Of course Kano is the state with the largest number of people in this country.
“If you sell any product in this country, if you don’t come to Kano, so you are not selling. So, we came here, Kano, to get closer to the people so that the market would be saturated.

“We are here to compete with others because we have products that can beat anyone in the market,” he said.
The former lawmaker expressed delight that the shop had started on a positive note.
He pointed out that his farm’s products are found across the state because of their unique quality nature.
In his remarks earlier, Minister of State, Works and Housing, Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub expressed confidence that the shop would attract large customers in view of the kind and quality of the products.

He said as a minister of works, his ministry had already keyed in in terms of economic development through provision of infrastructure that enables easy movement of goods and services across the country.
He expressed delight that the Chairman of Malam Alu farm had developed the idea of bringing the business to Kano, noting that it would provide job opportunities to the teeming youths and contribute to the state’s revenue derive.
BizPoint reports the products sold at the shop, located at number 1 Court Road in the Kano metropolis, include fresh cattle and goat beef, fish, tomato, cherry, fresh cow and camel milk, camel urine, local and broilers chicken, egg, vegetables, among others.
