No fewer than eight Pakistani pilgrims of Umrah (lesser Hajj) have reportedly died, while six injured in a fire outbreak at a hotel in Makkah.
In response to media inquiries about casualties in the Makkah hotel fire, the Foreign Office spokesperson said, “We have reports of eight Pakistanis killed and six injured. To provide relief to those affected and their families, our Jeddah Mission is in contact with local authorities.
Initial reports indicated that the fire broke out on the third floor of the Ibrahim Khalil Road hotel.

A source reported that Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and other Umrah pilgrims stayed at the hotel.
