Kano State governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has signed into law, the 2023 supplementary budget, worth N58,191, 535, 018.12.
While assenting the budget, Governor Yusuf assured that his administration would adhere to the principles of fiscal discipline.
In a statement by Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Yusuf assured that appropriated fund would be judiciously utilized based on principle of accountability and transparency.

“This supplementary budget is meant to take care of the infrastructural development that were not captured by the 2023 budget to meet the aspirations of the good people of Kano state,” the Governor explained.
“Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf appreciated the efforts of the Commissioner, Planning and Budget for the speedy process of the budget documentation to the state’s House of Assembly,” the statement added.
Ealier, the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Jibrin Ismail Falgore who led the Principal Officers of the House and its appropriation committee to the signing of the budget, presented the bill for assenting at Africa House, Kano Government House.
The Governor also craved for continued support and harmonious working relationship between the executive and the legislative arm of government in the state.
