The Kano State Hisbah Command has invited a popular TikTok skit maker, Murja Ibrahim Kunya and other female TikTokers to a meeting at the command’s headquarters, with the aim of ‘rehabilitating’ them.
BizPoint reports that Ms Kunya is one of the most popular and controversial skit makers in Northern Nigeria, whose posts generate outrage in the region, especially Kano state, where she lives.
The invitation was extended to the young women by the Deputy Commander-General of Hisbah, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen in a chat with Freedom Radio on Friday.

“We wish to invite all female Tiktokers and skit makers on other social networks like Facebook, Instagram and others to the command’s headquarters on Monday (6 November, 2023) by 4pm),” Dr Aminuddeen said.
“Any girl that is interested in getting assistance from the state’s governor (Abba Kabir Yusuf) should come to us. If you have educational or business certificates you should bring them to us with your face covered to protect your identity.
“We will sit down with you. Any girl that wants marriage will be included in the mass wedding programme, those who want to return to school and those who want to do legitimate business will all be assisted,” he explained.
Dr Aminuddeen also said the Hisbah command has achieved a remarkable success in its operation against prostitution in the state, tagged “Operation Kau da Badala”.
“We have gone to a location to make arrest but we didn’t find people to arrest. This shows we are succeeding in our efforts to sanitize the Kano state and restore its Islamic values.
“Everywhere we go, people are commending us, while others are even inviting us to carryout operations in their areas. We have observed that hotels and joints are observing the order,” he said.
The Hisbah DCG added that a majority of the women arrested by the command were not from Kano but came from various states and even countries.
According to him, “We have arrested people from Niger, Gabon, Chad and Cameroon. Some of them were displaced by war. So, whoever fails to find anywhere to go, they will come to Kano. And in Kano, whenever they see a woman, they will just succumb to her, this is shameful”.
