It was learnt that on Friday, few hours after the judgement, the commercial tricyclists had fulfilled their promises by giving free ride to residents, especially who came out to watch the wild jubilation that rocked the commercial city.
When our reporter met one commercial tricycle rider, Mustapha Isa, he said he was cleaning and servicing his machine to go out for the free ride as promised before the judgement was passed.
According to him, he is a staunch supporter of Kwankwasiyya Movement and governor Yusuf, that is why he decided to offer the free ride in appreciation to the outcome of the verdict.
“I am happy today and I am now set to begin offering free-of-charge service to people in celebration of the victory.
“Abba is our choice and we suffered tension and anxiety when the APC challenged his election victory in court. He was sacked twice by tribunal and appeal court. The anxiety became greater when it came to judgement of the Supreme Court.
“This is why majority of our members decided to offer the free ride if Abba scale through. Now he has been affirmed by the apex court, we must thank God and celebrate.
“So, part of my celebration is to give free ride to the people of Kano. I also call on my colleagues to do the same as me. We are really happy,” he said.
Another rider said he had already begun offering free ride to passengers.
He said the situation called for offering free services to show gratitude to Almighty Allah for the epic victory.
He also advised other tricycle riders and business owners to offer free services for people in appreciation to the victory.
