Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state has donated the sum of N2 million to the family of late Alhaji Yusuf Tukur Tarauni, a member of the cemetery committee in the state.
The governor had also presented a job offer to the eldest son of the deceased, who studied engineering, for employment in Kano State civil service.

Speaking at the presentation of the cheque and employment offer to the family on Friday at his office, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, said the gesture was for the deceased’s service to humanity when he was alive.
According to him, following the death of late Tarauni, the governor deemed it fit to support his family in view of the commitment of the deceased towards taking care of cemeteries in the state.
“The governor deemed it fit to support his family. He directed me to present a cheque of N2 million and a job offer to one of his children.
“His eldest son happened to be the beneficiary of the offer of employment be he is a graduate in engineering. He is going to be employed in the civil service.
“This money would help the deceased family to solve some problems, purchase food items and other needs,” he said.

The SSG, who represented the governor, presented the gesture to the family through Sarkin Fadar Kano and District Head of Tarauni, Alhaji Ado Kurawa.
The deceased’s family also expressed gratitude to the governor for the kind gesture, saying that they are impressed with how the governor remembered them and provided succour at a critical condition.
They promised to use the money judiciously and prayed for the governor to succeed in his leadership.
