The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Jigawa Command, Gumel unit, has conducted a public enlightenment campaign rally on Operation Zero in Maigatari town trailers park.

Gumel Unit Command, in a statement said the campaign is in line with the FRSC’s headquarters ‘ directives to intensify public enlightenment campaign in a bid to increase road safety awareness among road users in Nigeria throughout the Yuletide and beyond.
The Ag unit Commander, CRC Abdullahi G. Umar led the campaign at the motor park to sensitize the road users on the proper road usage.
He said the rally is part of FRSC Operation Zero conducted nation wide with aim of engaging both drivers and passengers on safe driving culture and significant role of FRSC in ensuring safety of lives and properties of Nigeria’s road users.
The unit commander applauded the continuous support of the critical stakeholders, transport unions, traditional rulers and maigatari local government Authority for the cooperation to FRSC in discharging it’s constitutional mandate.
“Further more the unit commander advised the motoring public to make use of FRSC Mobile App, other social media platforms and tune to national traffic Radio on 10.7 FM for updates on traffic related matters and FRSC Emergency Toll free number 122.
“The sector Commander Rs1.4 Jigawa State Command, Corps Commander Aishat Saadu Fnarc in her good will message appeal to the road users to always be safety conscious and speak against any reckless driving.
“She further charged driver’s to obey traffic rules and regulations and avoid over loading, mix loading, Speeding, night travels among others,” parts of the statement read.
In their remarks, according to the statement, both Chairmen of the transport unions appreciated FRSC for conducting the rally and promise to support the campaign to mitigate the rate of Rroad Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in the state.
