He said the discussions would contribute a great deal towards Kano’s commitment to achieving healthy environment under his watch.
The Commissioner further highlighted that his team engaged key stakeholders in Abuja to advance environmental and climate initiatives for the state.
“We participated in a training by Black Forest and UNIDO on developing a waste management policy for Used Off-Grid Energy Equipment, a crucial step toward achieving a circular economy in Kano and Nigeria.
“In our meeting with Nkiruka Maduekwe, DG of the National Council on Climate Change, we discussed aligning Kano’s Climate Change Policy with Nigeria’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and developing an action plan for implementation.
“We also met with eHealth Africa to explore partnerships at the intersection of health and climate change, ensuring a holistic approach to environmental sustainability.
“Our government remains committed to positioning Kano as a strategic hub for climate action and environmental sustainability at both the national and international levels.
“As we push for long-term solutions, we must also take immediate action. Let’s all join the weekly sanitation exercise tomorrow to keep Kano clean and healthy,” the statement concluded.
