The Vice Chancellor, Bayero University Kano, BUK, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas has received an award of excellence by the Alumni Association of the University, Ilorin Emirate chapter.
At the award ceremony , held at Fresh Hotels, Ilorin, over the weekend, the association described Abbas as an enthusiastic administrator per excellence.
Representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yusuf Lanre Badmus of the University of Ilorin, described the Chapter as a vibrant Association and encouraged them to dedicate more to the development of their alma maters, Bayero University Kano.

Prof Badmus advised the association to take advantage of the age long relationships between BUK and Ilorin Emirate to foster a long lasting partnership with the Institution.
He said just as we are celebrating the tenure expiration of Prof Ibrahim Agboola Gambari as the immediate past Chairman of the Governing Council, the Emir of Ilorin, HRH Alh Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari also became the Pro Chancellor of BUK, which points to the robust relationship between the two communities.
The event which is the third in the series of the annual get together of the Bayero University Kano Alumni Association, Ilorin branch was celebrated with series of Health talk, Lectures and award presentation to different individuals who have distinguished themselves in their various disciplines and endeavours.
The Lectures were delivered by Dr Idris Bolaji Ojibara, Gen. Sec. Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr Dumebi Okafor and Mal Nasir Abdulkadir.
The event was attended by dignitaries and captains of industry among which include the former Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Shariah Court, Hon. Justice Idris Haroon, Professors and a host of others.
