The Kano State Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change has officially opened application for seedlings to plant 10 million trees across the state.
In a statement by Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change. Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, the initiative is part of the 10 Million Trees Campaign introduced by the administration of governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the state.
According to Dr Hashim, the campaign is designed to combat desertification, restore degraded landscapes, and strengthen the state’s resilience against climate change.
He therefore announced that the government invites community development associations, NGOs, youth groups, religious institutions, and schools across Kano State to apply to receive seedlings for planting within their localities.
“Applications are now officially open for tree seedlings under the state’s 10 Million Trees Campaign—an initiative announced by the Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, through the Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change.
“This vital campaign is designed to combat desertification, restore degraded landscapes, and strengthen our resilience against climate change.
“We invite community development associations, NGOs, youth groups, religious institutions, and schools across Kano State to apply to receive seedlings for planting within their localities,” the statement reads.
