Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the sum of N8 million as initial deposit for 2027 Hajj.
The Director General of the board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle made the announcement at a press conference at the headquarters of the board on Sunday.
According to Matawalle, the amount of the deposit was set following careful consultations and consideration.
He said the board had put in place a transparent and orderly payment process, adding that all payments shall be made through bank drafts, which must be submitted to the Local Government Hajj Centre Officers across the state.
” We advise all intending pilgrims to follow only the official procedures approved by the Kano State Government and to avoid dealing with unauthorized individuals,” he said.
The DG also announced that sale of Hajj seats and the payment process would commence on Sunday 12th July 2026, and would close on 26th September 2026.
“I encourage al intending pilgrims to begin their registration and payment early to avoid the last-minute rush and to enable the Board to make timely and adequate arrangements for a successful pilgrimage.
“The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board remains committed to providing efficient. transparent, and quality services to ensure that our pilgrims perform this important religious obligation with comfort, safety, and dignity.
