The Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, HJRBDA has confiscated about 600,000 hectares of farmland belonging to it from illegal occupants across the state.
In a statement by its management, the HJRBDA, through the Managing Director, Engineer Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, stated this at the distribution ceremony of agricultural items to various categories of people across the state.
He said the confiscated farmlands would be used for irrigation purposes in order to provide enough food for the nation.
Engineer Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi also commended President Bola Ahmad Tinubu for spending about one trillion naira on different projects in Kano State.
According to him, the projects include the Northern Bye-Pass Road, rail line projects, and the completion of the road project from Kano to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
On the empowerment programme which he facilitated, the MD explained that about six hundred youth farmers have benefited from irrigation machines, while others benefited from insect spraying machines and motorcycles.
Based on all these developments, Engineer Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi then called on the people of Kano State to rally round and vote for President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf for their second term tenure.
He also urged them to vote for all the three Senators, members of the House of Representatives, and members of the House of Assembly during the forthcoming general elections.
