BlackHorse Holding Company Limited has Launched Crescent Rice Ltd., its 400 metric ton (MT) rice mill, and 240mt Sack Manufacturing Plants under the trade name of Aminchi Bags Limited in Kano state.

The launch ceremony, which was graced by dignitaries within and outside Nigeria, was held at the Crescent Rice Mill Ltd, at Danzaki, along Hadejia road in Kano on Wednesday.

BlackHorse Holding Company Limited has been in operation for more than ten (10) years providing logistic and haulage support for local and global businesses.

The company has decided to invest in the agricultural value chain to provide local packaging support for the sector, and solve some of the problems being encountered by citizens and thus create value for all stakeholders.

Delivering a speech at the occasion, the Managing Director of the company, Mr Rahul said the rice mill, established in 2024, was designed with a capacity to process 400mt of rice daily.

He said the journey started from a what he described as small production capacity of 80mt, but a year after, precisely in 2025, additional two production lines of 160mt per day was established, making a total of daily output stand at 240mt.

Mr Rahul explained further that the rice milling plant has now expanded with additional two units to meet the 400mt daily production capacity demand.

“This is truly a remarkable achievement, i could say. The expansion of the capacity is not barely an addition of space. It is a symbol of our commitment to growth, Innovation, and serving our Nigerian customers with even greater dedication.”

“BlackHorse Holding Company Limited has been in operation for more than ten (10) years providing logistic and haulage support for local and global businesses. In that time, the company through its subsidiary Dangwauro Container Terminal has served organisations like Ammasco International, CMA-CGM, Hapag Lloyd, Ilera Group, Maersk, Mamuda Industries, PIL Shipping, Kaduna Refinery and many others. Our role in international trade facilitation and local industry support has helped us develop a keen sense of the pain points of the Nigerian economy. We continue to seek for ways to broaden that support.

“By intentionally investing in the agricultural value chain and providing local packaging support for the sector, we hope to solve some of the problems being encountered by citizens and thus create value for all stakeholders. Our rice mill – Crescent Rice Mills Limited – will now be processing 400 metric tonnes of rice daily thus improving supply in the region.

“The food security and employment-creation impact of this endeavor are some of the satisfactions we are most proud of in our journey towards growing Blackhorse into a renowned international franchise.

In addition, the MD said, the company also decided to fill an observed gap in the agro-packaging sector of the economy – the bagging of commodities and agro-products.

For a while now, the MD said, the company has observed that bagging solutions for local manufacturing has been quite an intractable challenge. Manufacturers are forced to rely on imported alternatives which are both expensive and inadequately supplied.

“To address this problem, Blackhorse Holding is pleased to unveil its state-of-the-art 240 ton per month bagging plant under the trade name of Aminchi Bags Limited,” he said.

He also announced that the facilities are powered by a 3MW sustainable independent power solution. He expressed confident that as a group, the company will be able to profer sustainable manufacturing solutions in the areas we have chosen to operate.

“We are beginning to see early endorsement of our products. Recently, the African Organisation for Standardisation through the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) issued the ARSO DUAL MARK OF QUALITY FOR CERTIFIED PRODUCTS on three (3) of our products. This recognition is an important validation of our compliance to the requirements of African Standards adopted as NIS ARSO 464:2017.

“As part of our journey in excellence, BlackHorse Holding Company Limited, will work with our partners at Mulberry Advisory Services Limited (a respected issuing house and SEC-licensed capital market operator) to access the capital market as we explore new capital sources for our growing businesses. We believe our commitment to governance excellence and accountability rightly affords us a place in this elite market of disciplined businesses.

“We like to recognize the commitment of our staff, management and our directors. The support of our regulators, financiers, and the government and people of Kano state has been phenomenal. The hospitality of our host community and the enabling environment and goodwill fostered by you all has been commendable. Thank you.

“With gratitude to Almighty God, it is my singular honour to declare this 400 metric ton production of Crescent Rice Mill Limited and the 240 Metric Ton sack manufacturing plant of Aminchi Bags Limited open for operation!,” he said.

In his remarks, the Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer, Crescent Rice Mill Ltd., Alhaji Muhammad Sani Utai, said, the idea was conceived between him and Mr. Rahul some three years back. He said It started from zero to its present status.

Alh. Utai explained that after less than a year, the firm added another capacity of 160 tons, and another 160 tons to achieve the production capacity of 400mt.

According to Alh. Utai, the journey faced some challenges because of the situation of the Nigerian economy, but the company was able to overcome the challenges.

Describing the project as ambitious, the Chairman disclosed that the firm is in the track of expanding the production capacity to over 500.

” You can see within the short period of time how we will expand it. Which means you can see that the project is a very ambitious one and we are not stopping at 400. There is going to be a continuous expansion. But before the next year, we want to make it about 530 metric tons.

“We have in the same premises, in the same group, we have oil mill, where we process our groundnut oil and the sorghum. Apart from oil mill, we have just launched, as you can see, the packaging factor for making sacks.

“So that it will be a complete value chain for agricultural commodities,’
