Kano State Agro-pastoral Development Project, KSADP, under the Islamic Development Bank, IsDB, in collaboration with the Kano state government has officially handed over the 98 milk collection centres to their respective Milk Collection Centre Management Committees, MCCMCs.
BizPoint reports that the centres were established in 13 local government areas to improve market access for dairy farmers, enhance milk quality and handling, and identify practical solutions to challenges affecting milk collection, processing, and commercialization.
They also served as linkages between the KSADP milk collection centres and uptakers.
The handover ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority, KNARDA, in Kano on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of KNARDA, Dr. Farouk Kurawa urged the MCCMCs to utilize the facilities judiciously.
He warned that the government would not condone any negligence that could lead to the collapse of the facilities.
H & M (Nigeria) Limited, which was one of the contractors engaged by the Kano State Government for the execution of the project, alongside several other firms and was represented by Alhaji Nura Hassan at the event.
